DOT markings cut to the rule, not to a guess

Vinyl decals carrying your legal name, USDOT number, and any state number your operation needs. Cut to meet the 50-foot legibility standard in 49 CFR 390.21, and shipped next day.

Every set is a pair. Both doors, one price, cut from the same file so the two sides match. Most of this industry sells one decal and lets you work out that a truck has two sides.

What we guarantee

Every order ships with a spec sheet stating the letter height we cut, the contrast pairing, and the CFR section the marking was made to satisfy. It costs us almost nothing and it is what a driver hands an officer at a roadside inspection.

The federal rule sets no universal minimum letter height — it sets a legibility standard, and 2 inches is our recommendation for meeting it. If a seller tells you two inches is federal law, they have not read the section.

Requirements by state

The federal rule is the floor. Three states issue a number of their own; most issue nothing extra. Each page answers it for that state, with the citation and a link to the agency that issues it.
